Steve at Pierce Mattie voiced concern over Media Orchard adding a SitePal babe to our Web site:

Eww! I hate these things! Scott, my vote is a VETO. I have always loved your clean design, colors and consistent style sheet on your blog. Are you sure people like these things? They freak me out! It might just be me. If anything, they should have the same organic media feel and be original illustrative characters "from the grove" artwork.

Steve, we agree in principle; they are a little weird-looking. Maybe even a bit eerie. And definitely cheesy.

But since Media Orchard is also weird, eerie and cheesy, it meshes perfectly with our brand personality.

Would we recommend SitePal for one of our clients? Maybe, maybe not; it would depend on the application and budget. For a small business that wants to make its site a little more engaging for as little as $9.95 a month, it's certainly an economical option.

Here's more info on SitePal from Pete Cashmore.
