The Public Relations Society of America’s Dallas chapter recently named Idea Grove as a finalist for two Pegasus Awards in recognition of PR and marketing efforts in 2013.

Idea Grove is nominated for work on behalf of clients CA Technologies and ShopSavvy. Winners will be announced Oct. 11 during the Dallas PRSA Communication Summit luncheon.

CA Technologies needed to establish its non-branded online platform, www.servicevirtualization.com, to generate awareness of Service Virtualization as a concept for better software testing and development.

Idea Grove widened the base of contributors and improved content readability to help build the website into one of the top online resources for the technology approach. As a result, the community has grown to nearly 1,700 registered members. The blog has more than 300 articles from nearly a dozen contributors, and the site ranks No. 2 in organic search behind only the Wikipedia definition of the term. That ranking was achieved in less than eight months.

Also in 2013, Idea Grove established a public relations program that leverages new releases, media pitches, video and an online platform for leading mobile shopping app ShopSavvy. Initiatives were designed to generate awareness around the company’s application and drive downloads leading up to and during retail’s busiest period: Black Friday and the ensuing holiday shopping period.

Idea Grove’s public relations initiatives earned ShopSavvy media coverage that included dozens of TV newscasts nationwide, radio reports and stories on online outlets such as Shopper Marketing, Good Housekeeping, Mashable and VentureBeat.

The latest nominations are the latest in a string of honors for Idea Grove. In April, company President Scott Baradell was named Marketer of the Year by the American Marketing Association’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter for his work on behalf of ShopSavvy.

The Pegasus Awards are hosted by the Public Relations Society of America and recognize the most outstanding public relations and strategic communications efforts in the Dallas area.
