About this role:

We’re looking for an experienced B2B content writer who is also comfortable managing and editing other writers' work. You will assist the Content Director in delivering quality thought-leadership articles, website copy, blog posts, long-form social content and more for our B2B technology clients. In this role, you will be tasked with building our team of talented content writers to scale with Idea Grove's growth, as well as managing writing assignments and polishing the results to perfection. And because you love writing as much as managing others, you can pitch in on writing engaging copy yourself. Finally, the ideal candidate will have the drive and ability to mentor the writers to improve their skills.

This can be a remote position, but due to the collaborative nature of the job, the individual will need to closely match Central Time Zone hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., central time).

Primary role and responsibilities:

  • Leveraging a variety of sources to find and retain exceptional, reliable content writers for our team
  • Creating content briefs with details about each writing assignment
  • Assigning projects to appropriate writers and coordinating dates for delivery
  • Serving as editor extraordinaire—copy, line and developmental—to deliver the highest quality content
  • Nurturing junior writers to constantly improve
  • And of course, writing engaging content!

Relevant (not required) experience Includes:

  • 3–5 years in B2B digital marketing, content writing and/or public relations
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous content assignments and delivery dates
  • Creating project briefs and content outlines, delegating to other writers and editing
  • Storytelling (or a keen eye for identifying the "real story" and running with it) 
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication
  • Creating a variety of content types for B2B companies, including thought leadership articles, blog posts, web pages, eBooks, white papers, scriptwriting and social posts
