A Social Media Club of Dallas event is a sight to behold. The featured speaker, usually an industry innovator, talks as a theater full of people busily tweet his or her every word. The club’s next meeting will feature Idea Grove President Scott Baradell, who will discuss the role of public relations in inbound marketing.
We’re not giving too much away here when we say our founder strongly believes that the foundation of an effective inbound marketing approach is a coordinated approach that brings together PR, social and search. It’s the approach that’s made Idea Grove one of the fastest-growing public relations and marketing firms in Dallas. Scott is planning to bring along some Idea Grove case studies and other examples of inbound marketing campaigns in which PR played a major role.
The Social Media Club of Dallas event is set for Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Angelika Dallas. The address is 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, but you likely know the location as Mockingbird Station. These events start with a cocktail hour at 6 and wind up around 9. The club’s nationwide mission is to “promote media literacy, promote standard technologies, encourage ethical behavior and share best practices.”
Scott’s been sharing our best practices in a variety of venues. In June he was in Austin for a panel called “Tackling Media Relations” held as part of the Southwest District Conference of the Public Relations Society of America. In February he spoke on audience building at the PRSA Greater Fort Worth Chapter’s Professional Development Day.
After a career in corporate communication and journalism, Scott launched Idea Grove (and our Media Orchard blog) back in 2005. Today we have clients ranging from venture-backed start-ups to Fortune 200 companies; and we focus on helping enterprise technology companies reach media and buyers.
