Back in March, Media Orchard posted a list of our Top 10 movies tackling the worlds of journalism and public relations.

Since we’re entering the holiday season — when there’s nothing better than curling up with a classic on DVD from Netflix — we’re republishing the Top 10.

Here it is, with our favorite ranked first.

1. Citizen Kane
2. All the President’s Men
3. Broadcast News
4. Sweet Smell of Success
5. Network
6. His Girl Friday
7. The Insider
8. Teacher’s Pet
9. The Paper
10. Wag the Dog

Journalists like to complain about all the grief they take from people — but if you’ll notice, most of these films make them look good.

PR and advertising folks, meanwhile, are depicted as two-faced, unethical hotshots who will do anything for a client.

This isn’t fair, as we’ve pointed out before. But it’s the holiday season, so we’ll be forgiving.

And after all, Tony Curtis as the smarmy publicist in Sweet Smell of Success is brilliant.
