I’m sure the evolution of Anna Nicole Smith says something about our celebrity-obsessed culture, or about the Playboy ideal of womanhood, or about Hollywood, or about our build-’em-up-to-tear-’em-down pathology, or about US Magazine and the National Enquirer — or all of the above. Maybe it’s even a metaphor that sums up the meaning of our existence (or lack thereof). I’m just not smart enough to figure it out right now.

    She wanted so hard to be Marilyn Monroe.

    Too bad she died alone under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room. She had a chance to end it in parallel.

    I feel bad for her. As a media icon, she was never taken seriously. In the end, one could argue the media killed her.
