Spin Thicket Adds New Features: Tags, Search, Profile Pages

We've added some new bells and whistles to Spin Thicket and hope you'll check them out. Specifically:

1. Everyone who registers now gets an editable profile page; for example, here's mine, and here's Katie's, and here's Casey's, and here's Cam's, and here's Phil's.

2. We've enabled the addition of tags when posting submissions, and we've improved the site's search function (including the option to search all content or to search only by tag).

3. We added individual RSS feeds for each category on the site. Since we've logged well over 3,000 posts since we launched on Nov. 1 (that's about 35 posts per day), we know the full site feed can be a bit overwhelming. So now you can subscribe just to the category or categories that most interest you.

In fact, I'll go ahead and suggest a few "feed packages" for people with specific leanings:

Advertising --

Ad Biz
Cool Commercial
Lame Commercial
Sex Sells

Public Relations --

PR Biz
PR Nightmare
On-Air Meltdown
Mumbo-Jumbo

Journalism/Media --

Media Biz
Crack Reporting
Media Bias
Typo

Celebrities --

Hollywood Spin
Celebrity Trainwreck
Attention Whore

Politics --

Politics as Usual
Craven Demagogue
Right-Wing Spin
Left-Wing Spin

Spin Thicket's traffic and subscriber numbers continue to grow week by week. Expect to see more new features in the coming months.

  • Nice work!

Ok, I'm coming over to your place to play now, damnit.

  • Hey, Hee-Haw just cruised right past Media Orchard in inbound Technorati links! That's OK -- the Thicket will dust your ass soon enough.

  • What is Spink Thickett? I looked at it yesterday and could not figure it out. Is it like Fark for PR?

  • Yup. Try it -- it's easy!
