Listening to the archive now.

(My last name is one syllable, pronounced like "goams," rhyming with "roams.")

Don't worry... Unless you live in a Portuguese-speaking country or live in San Jose, San Leandro, or New Bedford, *everyone* makes that mistake. *8-)

SB, you could/should invite Jimmy Wales, but my guess is that he would be "too busy" to participate in a candid discussion about what actually constitutes a "conflict of interest" within Wikipedia. (Note, that he would reply to you about this official Wikipedia-related invitation with an e-mail address at Wikia.com.)

I think, quite literally, this issue of paid editing of the free encyclopedia that "anyone can edit" has touched the rawest nerve that is Wales' chief vulnerability. You can't run a non-profit organization, operating with content that is under the GFDL license, but also expect to personally decide who can and can't participate in the dialogue, regardless of community consensus. That is easily more unethical than any PR manipulation of Wikipedia article space could ever be.

Anyhoo, I still need to listen to the entire show, but I'll offer my opinion now regardless -- don't listen to "editor" (with no Blogger profile); you talked just the right amount during the interview. It works fine for Bill O'Reilly and Charlie Rose, so why not Scott Baradell?

Regarding the Rubel interview, I have an interview tip for you. As a veteran anchor and reporter in TV news, in my opinion, you talked way too much during the interview, almost as much as Steve spoke. I didn't tune in to listen to you, I wanted to listen to the expertise of Steve Rubel. You should simply ask the questions and then let him answer.

Greg...you raised my blood pressure a little bit. I think inviting Jimmy Wales to do a show is a great idea. Think he'll do it?
