Does Napster Sell Music -- or Strippers?

We're confused. First, there was this ad. Now, there's this ad -- continuing the stripper theme.

As readers of Media Orchard know, we're not opposed to attractive women. But from a practical standpoint, do Napster's ads really appeal to all demographics who want to download music online? Probably not.

More to the point, is Napster gaining any traction in building a viable alternative to iTunes? That remains highly questionable..

It's all very troubling. If Napster doesn't make it, where ever will we go to find advertising featuring scantily clad women?

  • You've still got the True ads on MySpace ;-)

  • iTunes has what everyone else wants: they just got to the artists first.

    Everyone else is second.

But, this ad, hmm. Is it saying save your money for strippers, or that you used to have to choose between music and strippers? Now, I love downloading music, but I don’t love it that much.

    ;-p

  • It's simple - Napster just has to make the explicit the link between the ad and their weekly discounted prices on David Lee Roth and other icons of 80s hair metal.

DLR - the favourite music of Strippers.
