Because we live in a society that values freedom of the press. Nothing should be banished. I read the piece and it is illogical and seemingly contrary for its own sake … but clearly the work of someone expressing an opinion that he has put a lot of work into.
My issue is not with freedom of the press — the writer has every right to publish whatever nonsense he chooses.
My issue is with Google’s “news judgment” — whether manual or automated.
