Nipple Slips: A Profound Metaphor for Something or Other
We here at Media Orchard are a little irritated that a blog called "Drunk Girl Nipple Slips" is threatening to pass us up in Technorati's ranking system.
We're also mildly appalled that bookies are now taking bets on "the next nipple slip."
Why the fascination with nipple slips? We're sure that it's another one of those cultural memes -- like hot blond teachers dating children -- that is symbolic of all that is wrong, right or indifferent in our society.
Hmmm ... let's see. Where can we go for an explanation of this phenomenon?
How about our deposed prognosticator, the Amazing Orchardo, who claims to be even wiser and more profound than Bono?
Take it away, Orchardo:
Dank you.
I bewieve that peopwe awe fascinated wif nippwe swips because in ouw cuwtuwe, we awe taught fwom a vewy young age to want the things we cannot have.
Whethew it's the candy baw you saw advewtised on TV that youw mothew says you cannot have, ow the spowts caw that we cannot affowd but that we puwchase anyway, we awe twained as consumews to continue gwasping fow mowe and mowe.
Dat, and I awso think that boobies awe vewy nice.
Well said, Orchardo.
By the way, someone claims to have created a line of rather indelicately named action figures based on the hot-teacher meme.
