Amanda K: PR People Are Soooo Stupid

(Media Orchard presents the debut post of our new staffer, that little agency minx with an ax to grind, Amanda K.)

Oh. My. God.

The other day I was on the shop floor and some of the girls were cackling about the PR hotties being posted on Valleywag. And they were like, “Such and such is not all that,” and “So and so is sooo hot.”

And I was like, “Chicks, this is a serious business and it’s not about that.”

And they got all Mean Girls on me and were like, “Whatever — your shoes are dumb.” Like that had anything to do with my credibility on that point.

And besides — my shoes are cool. I’ve gotten, like, a million compliments on them and I’ve only had them a week.

So, anyway, I don’t consider all those 24-year-old guys on the Valleywag site to be hot anyway. I like an older man who can teach me something. Like my new boyfriend, Brian.

I won’t say his last name, but I will say this: He’s soooo smart. And he’s soooo fun to hang out with. Like, last Saturday, it was a really pretty day, so we went to the park and sat on a bench, and Brian just made fun of, like, everyone who walked by.

For like, three hours.

It was soooo fun.

PR people are soooo stupid. I’m glad I have such a smart boyfriend.

Oh — that’s a media call. I hate the media!! Gotta go.

Arrivederci.

A-man-duh: It's a good thing you're better than everyone else too; otherwise, I might get a complex.

Without putting too fine a point on it, I am better than you. That bothers you a lot apparently.Scott, I can only suggest counseling or pharmacy or both. But do look into something. It's painful to watch your pain.- Amanda

A-man-duh: You would be.Tim: See exhibit A, top.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been thinking that the dumbing-down of the planet has been going a little too far. I fear for our species. Once the monkeys figure out a few more simple tools, they will hopefully take over for us and put us all in zoos for our own protection.

I'm flattered.- Amanda
