Media Orchard Interviews "Nikki" from Rellatio

Here ’tis, a Media Orchard exclusive. The girls at Rellatio say they’re legit — or at least their PR firm is. We interviewed “Nikki” by e-mail:

Q: What gave you the idea? When did you go live?

A: First, just to clear something up … we’ve been working for about four months, ever since we met _______ at B.E.D in NYC, and he convinced us that starting a boutique PR firm would be be more exciting than doing more of the same for us.

Around the same time some of the girls (there’s three full time and 3 part time, if you’re curious) were already starting to become scared by the idea that acting would not support us forever (none of us own the masters of our work so we have no royalty income). So when we had that conversation at B.E.D., we were like … why not?

Taylor Rain [pictured] is now running a talent agency. Jenna Jameson is a spokesperson for a number of brands. Suicide girls is the breakout brand of 2005. Why not? Why not use our ability to attract attention for others?

Our site went live yesterday.

Q: Was the Walt Whitman reference on your site a jab at our friend Strumpette? What do you think of your competition?

A: We’re throwing out the idea that college education isn’t necessarily the best preparation for Rellating.

Like we hinted at on the website, ordinarily, we aren’t catty. But these other PR firms are taking their clients for a ride–the bad kind. What does a socialite know about public relations? We’ve had public relations she could not believe.

That said, we do love Strumpette.

Q: Are there actually any girls among the “Rellatio Girls”?

A: Really, the nerve! The truth is you’ve probably seen most of us before. But you would have a hard time admitting it to your wife.

Q: What can you tell us about your true identity?

A: Oooo… this is a sensitive subject. We want to make our clients the center of attention. So we keep our true identities out of the picture for the most part. Plus, we don’t want the clients becoming intimate with our old videos. Actually, we don’t mind.

Q: What can you tell us about your plans for the blog? Are you a flash in the pan, or do you have staying power?

A: Porn is one of the largest industries in America. There are more than 4 million porn sites on the Internet worth $12 billion a year in the U.S. alone. We understand why. We were just there.

Porn is built on the presumption of power. PR is the same. The media sector is disintegrating and the only chance that PR has is to draw from that well. Brand loyalty is dead. But loyalty to the self remains alive.

This we can answer with confidence: this is only the beginning for Rellatio. We have clients that we’ll be looking out for and you’ll be hearing about.

PS: B.E.D.

If you’re thinking the restaurant/bar B.E.D. or its reps might have cooked this up as a viral scheme … you’re quite suspicious by nature, aren’t you?

It was a surprisingly quick process … there was only one clean one.
