What’s Worse Than the WaPo Hiring a Creationist Blogger? How About a Creationist, Plagiarist Blogger?

We love Mike Krempasky, and we know Mike loves Ben Domenech. But this stuff is just too crazy at this point.

Read the details of Domenech’s history of plagiarism in Salon and Your Logo Here. And here’s some trenchant analysis from Joe Conason.

And BTW, here’s the creationist reference. Since we are big fans of rationality, maybe this bothers us more than some folks. We think anyone who thinks the world is 6,000 years old should only be allowed to write for their church newsletter.

Scott, I’ve said it before … there’s nothing more boring than political blogs. All the constant “our side is right” screeching just gets old. I say ignore ‘em.

  2. SB says:

I’m not concerned about Ben’s politics so much as his ethics and professionalism.

And I don’t think creationism is a political issue any more than debating whether the earth revolves around the sun, or vice versa, is.

Uh, isn’t that discrimination on the basis of religious belief?

Domenech is probably doomed on the plagiarism charges though.

  4. SB says:

Pat, yeah, I guess that sounds a little intolerant. Nevermind.

It’s just depressing to me that so many people equate Christianity with a refusal to acknowledge basic scientific facts. God and science can co-exist; a person doesn’t have to turn off their brain to be a Christian.
