Someone told us the other day that Media Orchard is a “mashup” (file with other Web 2.0 terms that should be banned, like “meme”) of Romenesko, Gawker and Micro Persuasion.
We hadn’t really thought about it, but it is telling that all three of those blogs made our Four Things list. We steal liberally from each.
So we found this excerpt from Simon Dumenco’s AdAge column amusing:
Here’s what I believe: that I, and millions of others, read Gawker and lots of other popular blogs not only because they’re popular, but because they’re consistently provocative and hugely entertaining … Having the experience and the story to tell afterward briefly made them conversationally more interesting, more attractive. Which, come to think of it, is why people read the best, most popular blogs.
There, I said it: Reading Gawker makes you more f***able. And who knows? Maybe Romenesko makes you a better lover.
Well, that would be nice. But what about Steve? After all, there were hookups on Beauty and the Geek.
Update: Crash sucks.
