Journalists Choose Vocus for Pitching Other Journalists

We’ve always been partial to Bacon’s MediaSource, but give Vocus credit for a customer win with great PR value: They landed the SPJ.
From the news release –
Vocus, Inc. (Nasdaq:VOCS), a leading provider of on-demand software for corporate communications and public relations, announced today that the Society of Professional Journalists, Inc. (SPJ) has selected Vocus public relations software to help manage and automate its public relations efforts…
According to Terry Harper, Executive Director, SPJ, he sought a completely integrated solution that would allow him to manage all his PR efforts in one central location … “Vocus is an incredibly dynamic solution,” says Harper. “The end-to-end functionality of Vocus not only allows us to manage all our PR efforts in one software suite, it also enables us to track the results of our campaigns — providing us with valuable insight into our PR efforts.”
We can hear the salesperson now: “What better judge is there of a media outreach tool than journalism’s most-esteemed professional organization?”
We do wonder what professional journalists think of Harper’s highly canned quote.
In any case — better get on the stick, Bacon’s.
