Media Orchard rarely agrees with a word that Mary Matalin says. So the fact that we agreed with every word that came out of her mouth on today’s Meet the Press suggests that Democratic politicians and pundits might be barking up the wrong tree on the Cheney hunting incident — and hurting their chances in ’06 in the process.
Maureen Dowd, in particular, made a fool of herself on the show by suggesting the accident was symbolic of all that makes the Bush Administration evil.
No — the accident is symbolic of how irrational, irrelevant and ad hominem our media “debates” have become.
