Power to the People: Ad Firm’s Fake Wikipedia Entry Has Been Deleted

OK, maybe we’ve been a little obsessive about this issue. But it has been resolved. North Carolina ad firm McKinney’s fraudulent Wikipedia entry for Pherotones has been put out of its misery.

Thanks, Constantin, for the heads up.

We've only read speculation to this point. Some think that it's a telecom client. Whoever it is, we suggest they withhold payment.Of course, some silly PR and ad firms have actually done such campaigns simply to promote themselves -- witness The Great Pointed Archer fiasco.

So, did anyone every find out what exactly they were trying to advertise with this campaign?

The fact is that it should never gotten to this point. That's the sad thing the marketing firm doesn't seem to get.Urgh.
