Mena Trott, president and co-founder of Six Apart, dropped the f-bomb amid other profanities in responding to a question from Ben Metcalfe, an audience member at Les Blogs in Paris.
The setup (and no, this is not a joke): Mena had just concluded a speech on the importance of “civility” in blogging.
Here’s what Mena had to say afterwards. How about an apology instead?
Peter Cooper is way ahead of me on this one.

Wow. I do not know her, but I would have to say that her “rant” did her no favors and set her “cause” back quite a bit.
Bummer…
My one thought: civility runs both ways.
Jeremy: True, but Mena has more at stake than her critic. She doesn’t need to communicate at that level to make her point.
Give Mena a break here: her latest post is obviously a placeholder to provide context until she gets over the jetlag and provides a full response.
