Oops! 2005’s Worst Media Errors
Regret The Error is a blog by Craig Silverman that reports on “corrections, retractions, clarifications and trends regarding accuracy and honesty in the media.” Today, Craig posted his blog’s roundup of the year’s worst media errors and corrections.
While we certainly feel sorry for the nice lady falsely identified by US Weekly, the most cringe-worthy correction is this one:
The Denver Daily News would like to offer a sincere apology for a typo in Wednesday’s Town Talk regarding New Jersey’s proposal to ban smoking in automobiles. It was not the author’s intention to call New Jersey ‘Jew Jersey.’
Hoo-boy.
