Ranking PR Blogs with SiteScore

Alice Marshall and Mike Bawden decided to run their agency Web sites through SiteScore after reading this post.

Inspired, Media Orchard rated a number of popular PR blogs from 1 to 10 using Silktide‘s free tool. The results are below.

I know many great blogs aren’t on this list. My apologies; my fingers got tired. If you run your blog through SiteScore and send me the result, I’ll be happy to add it to the list in an update later. (Steve, I tried Micro Persuasion but SiteScore kept freezing up and never returned a result.)

Congratulations, Elizabeth!

John: They're using Alexa, which is a flawed measure of traffic, because it only tracks those who have downloaded the Alexa toolbar. Most Web users are unaware of Alexa, and many others consider it invasive and refuse to download it.However, if you choose to download the Alexa toolbar yourself, you'll find your popularity skyrocket within a couple of weeks. You can download the toolbar here:http://download.alexa.com/index.cgi?p=

Scott:How does the SiteScore determine popularity beyond links? It gives a score for each blog that says something like "you are the xxxth most popular blog" but it doesn't say how it determines that figure.

Martin: I got your blog's name and the link from "The PR List" on PubSub. It is often in the top 10 blogs on that list. The SiteScore rating is for www.roell.net, not just the photoblog portion of your site.

I wonder how my photoblog "Bilder im Kopf" (which lives at http://www.roell.net/photoblog/ but is listed with the URL http://www.roell.net ) made the list. Funny.Martin Roell (http://www.roell.net/weblog/)
